Jahshaka RC4 Call for Bugs! By admin Published: June 8, 2006 PrintEmail
We are working hard on stabalizing the codebase in time for 2.0RC4 which is due out next month. RC4 is primarily focused on stability, but will come with some nice perks such as collada support and the first tastes of the new v3 codebase. To help us out please grab the latest version and file your bug reports!
The main focus behind RC3 was to get jahshaka back up to speed and to address cross platform compatability across all the modules. With the new editor and encoder, and the new v3 powered player, we have been able to do this.
RC3 was a lot of work since it linked jahshaka with both the mlt libraries and the openlibraries in order to meet these goals and this introduced a lot of issues. It was also our first real OsX release in almost 6 months and was released on OsX for both Intel and PPC. On the linux side, the recent release of GLX and the need to support it on the linux desktop for ubuntu also raised a lot of issues.
In order for us to properly address and get all the bugs fixed for a stable RC4 next month we really need your help! So please grab the latest version of jahshaka from the downloads page, play around and then file your bug reports at bugzilla here:
